THE MODERN BUNGALOW
This 60 year old bungalow in St.Claire Gardens had good bones but had not been updated in over 20 years. The upstairs and downstairs got a complete gut job.
Above is the upper unit kitchen after being gutted and below is the kitchen before the renovation.

The kitchen before was closed off to the living room, hallway and entrance.
We took the wall down to open up the space.
The kitchen had some dead space so we took out the shallow pantry and made it an eat in kitchen.
The bathroom was dark and like every room in the home, covered with dated wallpaper. We brightened it up with new lights, paint, tiles, new fixtures, mirror, and cabinet. I couldn't find black fixtures locally so I painted some ikea chrome faucets.
These tiles form Home Depot are great for budget renos. Fixtures are from Lowe's.
Instead of tearing down the fireplace (which seemed like it might be impossible because of how thick the stone is), we framed it out and drywalled right over top of it. Paiting the gold to black and adding marble accents to mimic the kitchen and bathroom.
We divided this long living room and dining room to get an office on the other side of this wall which can be converted to bedroom down the line.
Here are the two bedrooms with all the wallpaper gone and the walls painted.
How nice are these grey maple floors from Lauzon!!
A couple more of my favourite details are these lights from Rona with LED bulbs and the bathroom open storage.
