Looking for a competent Carpenter Forman to coordinate operations and assist in construction of custom homes, multi-family construction and renovation work done by Ethos Infill & Developments Inc. This position calls for someone who has extensive hands-on experience in construction and carpentry. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication, time management and organizational skills. The construction foreman /forewoman enjoys problem solving and finding solutions to everyday challenges. Attention to detail is evident throughout the jobsite, workmanship and especially upon completion of a project. The candidate possesses strong leadership qualities, is mindful of safety at all times, is comfortable providing direction to sub trades and is able to make swift decisions when required. As the point of reference of both workers and Ethos, you will be a key person for the completion of a project.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate material requirements

  • Layout, oversee and manage projects from excavation to millwork

  • Fit and install custom windows, doors, stairs, trim, mouldings and hardware

  • Framing interior walls, structural framing modifications and back framing 

  • Drywall Repair, Patching, Caulking

  • Hardwood and vinyl floor installation

  • Minor plumbing and minor electrical knowledge an asset but not required

  • Move necessary materials around jobsite as assigned/required

  • Coordinating all on-site construction activity and scheduling

  • Oversee quality control of subtrades 

  • Coordinate all inspections (engineering, municipal inspections, safety)

  • Coordinate with sub-contractors to schedule plumbing, HVAC and electrical

  • Maintain weekly logs with progress reports for weekly meetings

  • Troubleshooting with other trades on site

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment at all times



Qualifications / Skills:

  • Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers and sub-trades

  • Assertive, level-headed, and an experienced problem solver with strong attention to detail

  • Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines

  • Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety


Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • High school diploma is an asset

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in custom residential construction or commercial tenant improvement setting

  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation


Contract length: 12 months with the possibility of an extension. 

Job Types: Full-time

Salary: $75,000-85,000 per year
